The BBC answered almost 10,000 complaints from the audience during April 2008.
These ranged from a small number of complaints about potentially serious breaches of editorial guidelines through to a much larger collection of views about programme content and scheduling. The key themes which emerged are as follows:
Scheduling
Complaints were answered from people unhappy that CBeebies show In The Night Garden is no longer broadcast in the evenings and has been moved to an earlier time slot.
Some viewers were upset that Torchwood was replaced by How Diana Died: A Conspiracy Files Special on 8 April.
Violence
Some viewers took offence to the scenes of a character attempting to kill a cat with a brick in BBC Three show Pulling tx 6 April.
Complaint About The BBC
Complaints were answered from people unhappy with 5 Live's commentary team for this summer's Euro 2008 coverage.
Insufficient Coverage
Complaints were answered from people unhappy that Moto GP tx 13 April was not available on Freeview via BBCi.
Technical
Some viewers complained about the new BBC Three logo, feeling it was too bright and distracted them from the programme being watched.
Offence
Some viewers were unhappy that the BBC broadcast a Party Election Broadcast by the British National Party on 21 April.
